FLA return (foreign assets & liabilities) By 15 July annually (FLAIR portal)

Valuation matters: FDI and cross-border transfers must follow RBI pricing rules, certified by a CA / SEBI-registered merchant banker. Late filing attracts a Late Submission Fee — ₹7,500 flat for FLA/APR; ₹7,500 + (0.025% × amount × years) for FC-GPR / FC-TRS / ECB, capped at 100%.
03
What Goes Wrong Without Compliance
Late Submission Fee
Every late FDI form attracts an LSF that grows with the amount and delay.
Compounding / penalty
Serious or unregularised defaults go to compounding — penalty up to 3x the amount.
Future FDI blocked
AD banks hold future filings until past defaults are regularised.
Records for 5 years
Valuation, resolutions and acknowledgements must be retained 5 years.
