Key Facts & Fees
Point Details
Law / form Trade Marks Act, 1999 • Form TM-A on ipindiaonline.gov.in
Classes 45 classes (1–34 goods, 35–45 services) — fee is per class
Fee — individual / startup / MSME ₹4,500 per class (e-filing)
Fee — company / LLP / others ₹9,000 per class (e-filing)
Validity 10 years — renewable indefinitely
Symbols ™ after filing • ® only after registration
Process: Search → file TM-A → examination → journal publication → 4-month opposition window → registration. Pick the right class(es): too few leaves your brand exposed, too many wastes fees. Startups (DPIIT) and MSMEs (Udyam) get the lower ₹4,500 slab — submit the certificate at filing.
